History of Kedarnath

Kedarnath temple is built by pandavas,the heroes of mahabharata.It is situated at the height of 3583m (11,755ft). The name Kedarnath means-The lord of fields drived from Sanskrit word 'kedar’(field) and nath (lord) Kedarnath is the hold place where shiva released the hold water from his hair.

The trekking route starts from gaurikund and is 16 Km long. You will see beautiful Himalayan landscape, forest,waterfalls and rivers.The trek takes 8-10 hours to complete and difficulty is moderate.
