Lansdowne is a small hill station in pauri garhwal district of Uttrakhand established in1887.It is known for its wonderful mountain beauty ,lush forest and colonial charm. The name Lansdowne is named after former viceroy of india LORD LANSDOWNE .The area is also good for trekking,nature walk and bird watching.It is headquarter of the garhwal rifle of the indian army.

Lansdowne is also known as kaludanda ,kalu means( black) and danda means(hill) in local garhwali language.it was originated by British for catering for the recruit’s of garhwal rifles.
